The German Embassy is generously funding our German Campus Weeks again this year. The first event, as part of the unit on environment and sustainability, commences on Saturday. Scotty Holland, student of German and intern on the campus farm, will give us a tour - in German. You don't want to miss out on meeting the goats!

This poster exhibition will focus on comparisons between the German and US electoral systems. This exhibit is open to the campus community and the public.

Where: Das Deutsche Haus
Time To Act is the motto for this year's Campus Weeks, which are generously sponsored by the German Embassy. Thus, we are acting on Saturday, we will build and plant a small garden biotope for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators at the German House. Everyone is welcome to come!

Sunday finds us breathlessly following the counting of votes and results for the Bundestagswahl. Who will be Germany's next chancellor? Fill out your own ballot, enjoy snacks and coffee... Special guest Dr. Reinhard Zachau, professor emeritus of the German department, will join us for political insights and Q&A.

Where: Gailor Hall Auditorium
Dr. Berroth will present on contemporary issues of climate change and environmental issues in German literature, film, culture, politics, and social justice movements. In break-out groups, participants will analyze selections of texts and images pertaining to the presented material. The event will be held in English. The event will be open to all members of the campus community as well as the town community.

How does German culture engage (with) people with disabilities?Examples from German legislature, commercials, as well as issues of visible and invisible disabilities will engage our mode of inquirySmall creative projects integrated into the lecture invite you to increase self-awareness and to create community.
